SHELDON J. SANDMAN received
his JD from The John Marshall Law School and his BA from the University
of Illinois. He began his legal career as an associate with famed
criminal defense attorney Julius Lucius Echeles. After serving
in the United States Army, Mr. Sandman represented the State of Illinois
as an Assistant Attorney General working to protect Illinois consumers
from predatory business practices. Thereafter, he served the
people of Cook County as an Assistant State's Attorney trying hundreds
of cases before Cook County judges.
Mr. Sandman founded the law
firm of Sandman & Levy in 1963 with Morris A Levy, focusing his
practice on representing injured persons. Mr. Sandman has personally
negotiated hundreds of settlements in cases involving wrongful death,
dismemberment, medical malpractice and other serious injuries as a
result of negligence. While in private practice, Mr. Sandman
continued his public service presiding over disciplinary proceedings
for the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission ("ARDC"),
the organization sanctioned by the Illinois Supreme Court to ensure
ethical practices by members of the legal community.
Mr. Sandman
is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association,
American Association for Justice, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association,
and is a U.S. Army Veteran.
